State to begin tracking hospital cases tied to MRSA

After a Seattle Times investigation, state health officials will require Washington hospitals for the first time to report patient cases linked to the drug-resistant germ MRSA and will begin analyzing this data next month.

New forecast: State budget shortfall $5B

State lawmakers could face a $5B shortfall when they meet in January to put together a new two-year budget. That's up from $3.2B projected last month.
